Indian channels with cheap television serials, are of such bad quality and content, that sometimes it is hard to believe, that they are so popular.

Does it reflect on the quality of the viewers themselves? It sure does.

So I recently subscribed to all famous ZEE TV since my parents moved in with me from TX to VA. So I got some taste of what is aired on Indian Channels overseas (outside of India).

The disaster of soap-operas during prime-time has also enrooted in US. One thing I opinionate is that the target audience is mass in there 50s+ and bored women on H4. Running into lot of youth (20s-40s), I hardly meet anyone who raves about these overly steroidically dramatic soaps but speak with the humans of the above groups and they will very well give you their thesis on one of these soaps. Even bollywood stars.

Lack of education during the 50s, 60s, 70s and even 80s has created this audience which happily watches soaps, bollywood awards, movies and songs. Also things-to-do in your environment. I see people from Texas knowing more about Indian songs, movies, etc then people from the DC area - I personally feel there is lot more to-do in DC area then from Texas and this goes not only with Indian people but any other race.

Coming back on track, I would be interested to know what do these TV Channels think to air, 20 years down the road when all my head will be gray? Same soaps or shows aired on Comedy Central and Discovery?
