I have deposited my PF withdrwal form after 2 months I resigned from my previous firm in Delhi.
Till today ( 08 months Now ) I have not yet heard from them.
This was in DELHI , now I am in Chennai , and here I have seen people getting their PF back in two-three months and they can access the a/c on the website and check the feedback.

WHY THE VAST DIFFERENCE ...???

@ Galicula,

NOBODY can touch your FIl's or anybody's PF money. Thats 100% safe. I am sure you would have tried all ways. But did you apply to the Regional PF commissioner of the relevant area? He/she should be able to help you in withdrawing the same.
My experience with the Regional PFC has been overall positive inspite of small hiccups in between. Generally it takes time to prove the bonafide but once done, the balance is electronically transferred to your bank account.

Goodluck in getting your EPF money.

Last year I went to help my family to get my deceased FIL's PF.
I was appauled by the service. It was like asking for free money.I cant imagine one needs to beg for months to their own money and not to mention treated like ***t.

We gave up and let them have the money as we dont have the capacity to get the system to work. system.

THIS IS ONE MORE THING THAT MADE ME GIVE UP HOPE ON INDIA.

God save India - I pray.

One possible way of making EPF more beneficial to Aam Admi is graudally decrease the percentage contribution as one moves upwards on the salary ladder or have graded interest rates.

Shashi, I have Greg Mankiw's blog, the Becker-Posner blog, all economic blogs with a mix of borrowed content and original writing. While I agree we should have a mix, going by the evidence of various well-rated and respected blogs, posting published comment from elsewhere is considered acceptable. I think I agree with Nitin that we have not defined "fair use".

Shashi,

I suppose a good blog offers a balance of content---original insights plus links/extracts to relevant writing out there.

While what is "fair use" and what is not is not defined objectively, this extract has been published with the consent of the authors, and due attribution to the publication. Thanks for raising this though.

Folks,

Please provide your insights on the topic rather than just posting a link.

Secondly, quoting such a huge amount of text from article can't be called fair use.
